i would like to but..

i flying to guangzhou now at manila airport waiting for flight. me PR of GZ n AC...haha...

This afternoon during checkout from hotel went to reception to retrieve my passport, atm card n some Rmb money.
plastic sealed w scotchtape opened up. passport n cards there but money missing.
lucky open in front of receptionist, she called manager, owner all out of town.

told them i need the money to go China.
Finally settled on phone paid me in pesos roughly loose out abt 250p on excange rate.
Got limited time as going manila for flight n on account that they allow early check in at 6am n always give me the best room, so forgo it.

The receptionist who i handed my things for deposit came apologising to me saying after she sealed my valuable w scotchtape in plastic bag, the manager put in the safe box.
i told her i understand she not the only one handling so just go find out abt the matter.

wonder who the internal thief is.

An unfortunate thing to hear.xmas is near many desperate soul out on prowl.good thing that they react immediately in paying u back.luckily u have a seal tape I wonder what happen if u doesn't have it.

The reception must have got frighten that she might have to a answer for the loss.time to find a new place to stay or will u give them business again?

Just reached my guangzhou home from airport by mrt n trike.

owner say wait for her come back to find out. i say no time need to catch flight n need the money to travel to china, so i got the money.
will still stay there cause they will list 22232down if u deposit cash / valuables w them.
this is ziebart's old hangout n we got good room rates but its in perimeter abt 800m from checkpt less than 15 mins walk

i handed over a plastic bag containing the items n cash to her. she listed down the contents n sealed w scotch tape. never put in safe as she didn't hv key as it was 7am. so she put in drawer n told me will transfer to safe later.

Newbie mistakes. Those who travel often would know never to bring out everything with you. Take only the amount you estimate you need for that day and leave everything else in a safe. I have had to "rescue" my friends a couple of times when they got stranded in Prague and Guangzhou after being pick pocketed.
