and a little birdie whispered the clean up acts are to gear up for return of the US Navy base back to PH under the pretense of challenging China .. so one of the main complaint of the US navy was AC/Subic, so clean it up, atleast officially, so the public will have less to protest ..

No AC/Subic bars, no reason for Opposition to protest the Americans are going to rob the virtuous filipinas of their chastity .. etc. etc..

you are missing the point .. times change, and it is a new age Navy, a Navy that let a lesbian kiss her partner as 'first kiss' on arrival recently .. something not imaginable years ago .. and allowing prostitution to thrive under the New Navy's watch ? No way ..

And as of now, if the Americans can proudly say they don't encourage prostitution by basing their ships in Subic / AC, but basing to make PH stronger and safer, they do stand a better chance of winning over .. i.e. that's the point from some politicos who fear PH may become part of China, like how TW is part of China, if US doesn't increase the presence ..

And PNoy is a strong proponent of bringing back the USN .. even on a temporary basis ..

A ship without a port is useless ship .. it needs a port to take shelter, in any storm .. replenish, refuel, and damage control, and Subic has all of these, built to American Standards ..and include the Airport / Runway for supplies landing.

USN due to return to the pacific is probably a political drama, to tell China that they have withdrawn from middle-east, and more than available to entertain the orient. i reckon, to claim that they wanna have a sterilized port (free from whores) to call at, is probably just a big show.

fundamentally, denying soldiers/sailors of sex for months while serving their tour of duty, is like denying the camel water at the oasis.

it's not too long ago that Subic was a dead town that sprang to life, with the sailors INJECTING much into the local economy. in the same light, McArthur Airfield was 1 of the many highlights of the pacific war during WWII. and the city was eventually built around the airfield.

the watering holes that we hop around & share reviews about these days, were concepts adopted & evolved while the yankees occupied the areas. unless they have enough MPs to patrol & keep a close watch on the night attractions... we can be quite certain that the cowboys will risk getting charged for AWOL, just to find an asian woman to shaft.

enforcements require manpower & logistics. the stings ongoing may be something for us to frown about for now, but i'm quite hopeful that the operations will mellow down eventually, bcos their budget can't sustain for long.

and since supply is suddenly exceeding demands, i've reason to believe that the girls would stick to their hirers like superglue :D

I agree with you, almost to the letter, but.. again it is the New Generation Navy

Some Navy Calls into Singapore now require the Sailors be onboard before midnight, vs no curfew ..

And the shore leave is being strictly controlled for some ships .. limiting it to day visits etc. etc.

So ?? I am not in the know, but I get my vibes in the right direction ..

You never know, a USN Ship docking is enough to pump sufficient $ into the chandlers, bunkers and the other service providers, enough to curtail the movement of sailors to limited areas ..

Who cares about the rest of the country, if the Chandlers and Bunker providers, who are most if not all, politically connected, have made their money ? ?

I also think that this is related to the "New Navy" as mentionned here.

If you have followed the CCN reports of Paquiao and that one woman to stop trafficing in PH, all I can think of is that it is part of some PR scheme to cover over the real truth. Which is the safe return of the US navy without large protests.

The raid is currently in progress..... same CIDG group from Pampanga as in the previous raids..... inspection was also done at Luxor (Golden Nile) and several other bars quickly closed for the night.

Updates from the raid..... this raid is different from the previous raids in that they brought along a TV crew to film the raid. And the asset used to "take out" the bargirl was a white guy.... which had never happened before. Watch the news tomorrow.

This is first hand account from a monger who was inside Vikings bar at the time of the raid.

A white guy barfined a girl. After making payment, 2 Filipino guys came in followed by armed police in camou and tv crew. The customers inside the bar were instructed to remain seated as they were. The TV camera crew then panned around and filmed the faces of the customers. The customers were then allowed to leave upon producing some identification. After the customers had left it was the girls turn to be led into the transport.
