come to think of it, i think for some reason the joints react differently to different crowds and/or nationality. having followed the streams of sharings from bros here, as well as what i've witnessed on the grounds while i was there... there seem to be a throbbing pattern.

• bar hopping section movement style (7pax or more), the joint welcome the visitors with open arms. direct them to the seats real quick, waitress even sit in to make the guests feel comfortable
  
• bar hopping ghost reccon style (4pax±), the joint tends to be a little wary, they send in their floor crew to test water, interrogate, send in the mamasans to interrogate, until they r satisfied, before they leave u to feast your eyes on the performers
  
• bar hopping sniper pair style (2pax), its as if the red flag is raised. wave after wave of water testing, interrogation, while the joint manager is only few yards away to keep a close eye
  
• bar hopping rambo style (solo), u get undivided attention for the wrong reasons

so i suppose our solution is:

• extreme makeover - start spotting jap/kor look
• sexcursion - go to AC in numbers (scale of econ, bargaining leverage)

One of my nerdy colleague whom I work for 20 years also showed me that he has fun... as a matter of fact, I saw something that I haven't seen when he went to KTV with us in our numerous business trips.. He asked mamasan to call up the gal that he has been watching the night.. when she came, he gave her a wade of 1000 peso and left.. I was startled and ask him why ? This is not you I said.. and do you not have fun with the gals that I picked for you ? He just said that he like her the moment he sat in the sofa and he felt the gals are very much service oriented and making efforts.. not like those we met in China where he is based...

Yeah... we have so much fun that we are recommending the company to invest in Philippines... :D and we will come back on the 26th to do more due delligence.

Yeah that's why it seems ridiculous to me.

For AC to have operated for so long, one would assume also that the bar owners on Fields Avenue are also 'connected', and even more so, than a foreign NGO.

Therefore if an organization like the IJM tries to 'exert' their influence on matters domestic to the Philippines, shouldnt they hit a wall because the 'cartel' that runs Fields Avenue has already 'taken care' of the Authorities?

Unless of course... the issue is made a matter of diplomacy right to the top. ;)

I think he meant his company to invest in real life business...not in bars...

BUT, if I m wrong, I totally agree with etsys...dun even think/dream of investing in AC bar scene. Bullets are cheap in AC. :eek:

Oh no... not in bar business ofcourse... this is a real business involve major capital commitment... we have system in place.. usually a bunch of high caliber consultants and lobbyist..

Philippine with 100+million people, rising middle income, younger population, under investment in service industry, and fun entertaiment scene... why not.. we will have fun and making money at the same time.

Investing in the PHilippines now is similar to the situation in PRC about 20 years ago..... you lose money it is your problem but if make profit everybody wants a cut. :mad:

The bar business in AC operates mainly on a "pay as you go system"--meaning payup when the cops, inspectors or govt officials need money or when they make excuses for bars to pay this or that so not to be closed down. It was never really a Mafia/ Cartel like structure there. Mainly greedy cops and officials. But that was the old ways before the good old USA and mainly that ugly bitch Hilliary Clinton decided to be US Sec. of State and wanted to go on crusade to rid the 3rd world of human traffic. She started implementing money scale packages (in the mega millions)for countries to improve their enforcement. So when the highest officials in govt smell lots of money (to steal of course) they immediately tried to show their good will and start changing laws, crackdowns etc etc so US could send money to them. Today in AC we see and feel the trickle down effect that good old Hilliary started years ago. Old crackdowns started and ended on the local level, The latest crackdowns are from the highest level.

Thais dont like Indians/Pakistan, Pinoys in the past also dont like Indian/Pakis, but seems ok with them now and dislike Spores today. Next week it will be some other group. Remember, they just follow a trend set by others as gals dont want to be seen with the "marked" group even if they do like the individual. They dont want to be part of the rumors going around. For a while, in some parts of PI, they dont like the Chinese and no girls would touch one, now things are easing up on Chinese as they have another group to pick on. Dont worry, pretty soon the Koreans will f**k up and it will be their turn and Spores will be the best men in the world for them:D

People join org like IJM because they feel its the right thing to do to solve some of the problems associated with the 3rd world. It also happened in Cambodia over 10 yrs ago with the f**king volunteer NGO that cleaned up Cambo. Maybe its the same bunch of aholes that were NGOs in Cambo that now joined the IJM:mad:
