Yup can be used in hotels and most well-heeled restaurants, just try not to let it out of your sight when they are swiping the card details
(read the earlier news report posted by H88 on the Australian being swiped a few times and charged USD 30K
). Most retail shops and street side vendors still use VND only.
To be safer just change S$1K to VND and it should be more than enough to last you 3 to 5 days
