I recommend you buy a Smart Buddy Sim for about 50p (S$1.60). Load in a 300p card and you are good for 2 months "life". Smart coverage is similar to Starhub in its earlier years. I guess 80% coverage countrywide or 99% in cities. Type 60 and send to 258 to get 5 days unlimited sms to smart sims.
Generally, sms is 1p per sms. Calls are 6.5p per minute. International sms is 15p and international calls to Sg is 20p per minute.
