He meant ex-girlfriend's brother's girlfriend. The girlfriend of his ex-girlfriend's brother. Quite confusing. I draw out like this 1. ex-girlfriend ---> 2. her brother ----> 3. brother's gf.
I know some of us guys have close guy friends whom we term as 'brothers'. In this case, it's not the girlfriend of a guy who used to be a 'brother'.
