In any case, AC is a big buck business, for the mayor onwards and everybody in between, and it is part of Philippines basic needs, for girls to have a job, and earn $ which the oligarchs are not willing to do. And without wich the girls and their Pamily will be starving .. You cannot send out all the girls as maids, or as other workers, di ba ?
And the oligarchs/cronies are only busy stashing their money .. so no, cannot help the local economy, unless some dumb foreigner pumps in money, so the oligarchs/cronies can steal some out of the investor ..
Shut down AC, and the NPA / social discord maybe back in full force ..
AC is as part of the Philippines life, as it is in other places like Cebu, Bacolod and all over .. just that AC is geared for Poreigners, and other places cater for natives - and the parents of the girls know what is happening, but act like nothing is wrong, as long as it is not in their backyard
