Had a similar experience in Fields Avenue in 2011. A bakla approached me near Club Genesis at about 10 pm while I was backing back from the Jollibee after my dinner. to head to the clubs.
While greeting me Hello Sir , I felt her(his!) hands touch my back pocket. Since it has a button it was not easy to pull out but I definitely felt a touch there.
After the incident I started putting my wallet in my front pocket when I walk. Got so used to it that now in Singapore I still put my wallet in the front pocket
On my march 2012 trip, I was having breakfast in front of Kokomos when an Australian guy was almost in tears. he said his wallet got picked. All his credit cards, cash, identity cards everything gone 'cause he was stopped by a tout selling viagra, cigarette, sunglasses etc. He stopped to try a sunglass & meanwhile another cigarette/viagra vendor suddenly came very close to him. He didn't like the sunglass & wanted to move on. Only after walking a few meters he realized that his wallet was gone. Really pitied him when he mentioned how he's gonna pay for his room and food, though his flight ticket back is safely in the room. Also was wondering how to show the police report etc to his wife 'cause he told her he's going for a business meeting in Manila
