Early this year (or was it late last year?) I went to Charoen Pharmacy to buy my supplies of medicine and I was surprised their shelves were cleared of most drugs. I asked the store owner what happened but he did not give me a straight answer. My guess they were raided.
This pharmacy was well known for selling anabolic steroids to people who wanted to build muscles fast. I had read about it in Bangkok Post a few years ago and the newspaper named Charoen. Who knows what else they had sold to customers.
Anyway, a couple months later on another trip, I went to the pharmacy again but same condition. The owner said they will be closing for good in a few weeks time. Too bad, I had patronized this shop for a number of years.
