The vagaries of women in Vietnam
Before I start my bemused ranting, I want to emphasize that I have met, and had the priviledge to be close friends with many Vietnamese women. This particular incident is just one woman, and perhaps it was my behavior that caused her behavior (cause and effect, neh?)... so... the story begins. For a while now, probably a month of so, I have been flirting with this new waitress in one of the bars. Let's call her "Y". I promised to take her out, but something always pops up, and never had the chance to do so until Monday night, which was her day off. So, we were supposed to meet for ice cream at Hoan Kiem at 8:30 pm on Monday night. At around 8pm, I called her up, to reconfirm specific place, she then asked me to come fetch her. Oh Oh... first sign of trouble. But her place is not too far from Hoan Kiem, so no problem. Of I went. Fetched her, and then we went to a little place across the road to Hoan Kiem. We sat, chatted, laughed, and I took her hand to massage it. She then said laughingly that I am "xau tinh", meaning bad/naughty behavior. But she massaged my hand back. Some point through our ice cream, I told her I just got back from a nice restful visit to Nanning, which prompted her to ask if I bought her any presents. Now... this is to be expected, and in fact, Bro Posted and I had stocked up on cheap handbags, each costing about S$2 but looks really nice. So I said yeah, but her present is at her house. If she wants it, I can invite her back to my pad. She promptly asked me to go fetch her present while she waits for me at her apmt. Oh Oh... second sign of trouble. Me being my cocky self, said she better come and claim it before I give it to someone else. So, into a cab we hopped into, heading back to my place, and all during the ride, she was acting all lovey-dovey... so I thought... hmmm... maybe I am wrong, I would get lucky tonight. So, we got to my apartment, and she asked if she could wait downstairs while I go fetch her present. Third sign of trouble... at this point, I should have cut my losses and dumped the gal, she clearly does not want to work for her comforts. Again, cocky me reared its head and I told her, well, I am going up to my pad and not coming down again. She can wait until tomorrow morning if she wants, cause that's when I go to work. So, she laughed it off, saying she's just joking, grabbed hold of the nook in my arm, and in we go into the elevator. Into my pad, and first thing she asks, is where is my present. So I said sit down on the couch first... she did, while I went to get that cheap purse for her. Came out, gave it to her, and she cooed with pleasure. I sat down next to her, and she immediately jumped up, saying she is afraid of me cause I am "xau tinh"... and then she started looking around my pad, and keep asking for things; saw my Zippo, asked for it... I said no. Saw my work fountain pen, asked for it... I said no... it went on. Then she saw my DVD stack and asked if she could borrow them. That I had no problem for the ones I have watched. So indicated which one she can take... but told her it is all in English, no Vietnamese. She said she doesn't understand, so I said too bad, but she ended up taking 30 of them (all the ones that I have watched). So, again invited her to sit down... and she said no, she needs to go home, and asked me to send her home. At that point, I sort of lost it... but... these sort of things no big, no point getting upset even though I was thinking "ni niah ma... present you want, come into my place only thing you think about is what can I take, all my DVDs you take... but sit down also don't want". So, told her, she can go back herself. At which point, she asked for cab fare... I curse myself for being soft hearted, but she does make very little money, so I gave her 50K and said good night. So, question to all bros... should I have been more garang and told her off? Maybe even taking all my stuff back?

FR on my escapes in Hanoi last week
Since some brothers here aint that friendly for some recommendations tt was reqested, so did the usual intelligence from the info shared by the brothers here. 1) La Thanh Hotel (218 Doi Can) request for massage, counter request a 100k VND and escorted by guy to room at far corner. Waiting for a massage lady to come in, deposit my valuables into the locker with key. Lady entered, aint a stunner but looks friendly at first, speaks only vietnamese. Name: Thuy Massage: 2/10 (practically non-existent) age: claimed to be 22 but may be older. look: 4/10 special: yes, coz her boobs are at least B cup . strip for me to grab her booby while HJ (no BJ & FJ) damage: 100k + tip 200k. 2) Massage in Hotel Called hotel spa, ask for massage in room..send a lady..reject and resent...slightly better only...give up. Name: Dung Massage: 4/10 (so-so) age: claimed to be 26 but may be older. look: 5/10 special: B Cup boobds. Convince her to strip for me to grab her booby while HJ (wanted $100 for FJ - no way!). Send her off with 200k tip..face black black. damage: 35USD + tip 200k.

=========== ICA seems to have banned many Vietnamese girls from entering Singapore. Some "friends" of mine coming in today were all turned back at the airport. I have heard a few cases since last week as well. Come to think of it, the AV is doing a major clean-up of Geylang and obviously they will implement more checks and stops at the airports as well. FR: Nanning Expedition
I feel compelled to write something about a recent trip to Nanning from Hanoi (Thunderpriest has been glowering at me for quite some time alr):
Over the labour day long weekend, group of friends and I decided to go visit Nanning and get out of Hanoi for a change (want to sample some chinese food hur hur hur). Spent about 10 hours getting to the city with unpleasant experience at the VN immigration. The Vnese side shd really get their act together. The hotel we stayed at was really cheap only about SGD 20 per night, thanks to good recommendation from a taiwanese friend of mine. If any one wants to go to Nanning for holiday can PM me for the address and contacts. Anyway, once we got there, my radar picked up a sign that says "sauna massage", RMB 238. I thot what the heck, sounds reasonable, let's check it out, because I was really aching all over from the long bus rides. I went to the 4th floor and was escorted to a dimly lit room that did not look like any sauna that I have ever been to. Here one guy told me politely that I could choose a girl for full service. Alarm bells rang. It's a fuck joint. Apparently "saunas" in Nanning are really code names for brothels. Anyway, chose a plain looking girl that had a nice smile from the substandard line-up that came into the room. I am not good at describing experiences like this but it was quite interesting - had this fire and ice service and lotsa action downunder. Total damage RMB315 including tip for girl. Second day went to this large military hotel of sorts for a higher class version of the previous day's adventure. Beautiful rooms with comfy beds and flat screen TV. Comes with large rubber exercise ball and a pole for erm...pole dancing hahaha. Great service by the mama and papasans I felt, very professional which is a welcomed change from the laopok quality in Hanoi. Girls do acrobatic acts to "pleasure" you like the 360 deg, the "shen long bai wei" etc etc. Very entertaining. Girls were generally pretty and a large number of them are very young (<20 years). We also spent one night at the KTV that was quite blah because the girls were not pretty and played hard to get. Only redeeming aspect was the opportunity to sing some newer chinese songs. Very deprived in Hanoi... Non-sex related aspects of the trip: Nanning is great place for food because it's really cheap and good. The roads were wide, well-maintained and taxi drivers all drive like formula one race car drivers. One amazing thing, very little "horning" on the road. We stayed till Sunday and spent the last night at a local bar which was so-so. Overall experience was shiok but it was still nice to be back in Hanoi and hug some cute VNese girl albeit the language barrier  End of report. they can arrange (almost) everything. for hotels they are usually competitive, however since they cover the upscale part of the travel market pretty well, quotes for add-ons like car transfer are sometimes expensive, I just laugh it off and tell them I will book my transfer somewhere else - then usually I get a better price. Or even better, just tell them in advance not to quote silly prices.
