Man’s body found in Singapore River
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Man’s body found in Singapore River By Nurul Azliah Aripin | Yahoo Newsroom – 1 hour 17 minutes ago Singapore Civil Defence Force personnel retrieved a man’s body out of the Singapore River on Thursday afternoon. The body was found in the river near 20 Upper Circular Road, according to an SCDF spokesman, adding that they were alerted at 3:53pm. SCDF sent one fire engine and one ambulance to the location, after which, the body was manually retrieved using a rescue line. The body was pronounced dead at the scene. According to an eyewitness, the body was found in the river facing JUMBO Seafood Restaurant. The eyewitness, Ahmad Jihadi, 25, who works at a nearby club as a sound engineer, saw about five SCDF and eight police officers at approximately 4pm at the said location. Three SCDF officers retrieved the body out of the river at about 4:15pm and took about 30 minutes to do so, Ahmad said. He also said that the body appeared to be that of an old Chinese man wearing long black pants and a light brown shirt unbuttoned at the chest.
